A New Project

As most of my kitsch jewellery will now be made from recycled elements and vintage parts. I felt that it was time for me to move my blog forwards. So I will be doing little demos of things so people can make them I will also be looking at things that inspire my works.

On my other blog which is for my more creative side EsmeDodsworthDesign I will be doing a project which I have called "a create a day". Which could be a photo, or a sketch, a painting or a poem. I want these things to form my new feelings towards art and craft. So felt my other blog would be much better for this.

I feel I am ready for a new journey and I am hoping that this journey helps me to produce better work and for me to understand me a little better.

My work has always been about me being self absorbed and a great way for me to hide from my past but now I think I need to re-educate myself!

I am hoping that some great work comes out of it!

Oooooh Buttons

Sorry for my disappearance over the past month, mammoth listing and computer issue seemed to take over my life!

I am now back to a sort of normal routine so I am able to blog again. I am currently sorting through a pile of buttons that my mum got for me. Buttons always remind me of when I was little, playing with all my mums buttons in her big chocolates tin!

I am also listing some new tape measure bracelets blue/white ones, I love this colour combination together. I also have more exciting news to come....... Yay!

Yep I got more items listed :-D its seems to have taken ages and I still have space for 50 more items so I will be getting on with many more new designs. I have another box now to photograph for my etsy shops! I did say I was behind, I just love making the stuff I must crack the whip more often and make myself list it all! Slaps own wrist....

Just been listing lots of vintage 80s brooches that I purchased a while ago. I also have another 20 items to list (lots of new designs) :-D but I seem to be so behind.......I always seem to have lots and lots of things waiting for me to do!

I won't get much more listed this afternoon as I have the dentists and I completely freak out at the dentists so for the rest of today I will feel awful. I really wish it didn't worry me so much!

Anyway below are some of the 80s brooches, more update tomorrow with lots of handmade goodies :-D

A New Thing

I spent last week working on a few new items of PMC, and I am so pleased with how they have turned out, I think I may have cracked it :-D

I created a Christmas present for my mum, which is top secret until after Christmas when I intend to blog about the handmade Christmas that we are having!

I also made this butterfly pendant. I also wanted to further my skills using the UV resin gel, which I have added glitter too. I am so impressed with this butterfly.

I cannot wait to buy my next batch of PMC, which is going to be next week as Thanks to Etsy, they featured me in their etsy finds email for the Black friday Cyber Monday sale. So I can now create more items for the shop using recycled items, pmc and resin Yay!

My First Trade

A few weeks ago I was contacted by alliteration about taking part in a trade, which was something that I have never done before :-) I am really pleased that I did as I received these lovely earrings from alliteration, they are so cute, I hope that she likes the bracelet that I sent!

In other news I am so behind with everything! Mostly it was accounts that made me behind with the rest of my work. When will I learn that if I was good and did it each week, it wouldn't so much of a task when I did finally do it :-D

I have also spent the morning re-photographing my etsy items, I have decided that I don't like the white background and I am going back to being all colourful me again with a shop jammed pack full of mixed backgrounds. Plus I find it easier to photograph this way.

Shop Update and Shopping Sprees

I keep promising to be a good blogger and post more often oops!
I have however been creating lots and lots of new items. This pmc addiction is costing me a small fortune :-D
One of the new items I have made, are these little earrings. Which I really love, so I may have to make an extra pair for myself, to wear this christmas.

Talking about Christmas! I have been on a little buying spree over the past week, and not for others :-D This was me just treating me which is naughty but sometimes you just need too!

Firstly I got this oh so pretty and shiny christmas decortaion from AMIdesigns it will look fantastic on our tree.

and I also purchased this intricate drawing from Illusio, which is going to look great on my craft room wall, when we redecorate in the new year!

The first is this magical hand painted toadstool necklace. It took some time to perfect the overall look but I love these so much :-D

The second item is this cotton reel ring, its been available in my etsy store for a while now, but I got around to adding it to the website today!

New Designs

Well as you can see I have been really consumed and enjoyed playing around with PMC, it has always been an idea for me to mix up my mediums. I really like working with lots of different mediums to create jewellery and for me adding in PMC and base metals was always something I wanted to get in to. So I am so happy I took the leap!!!

This week I am adding a few new designs to the shop. Firstly These Hoop and Butterfly Necklaces, that have been made using plastic beads and a handmade butterfly charm, which I have given a super shiny finish.

Christmas

Yep I said that word in September (Christmas) :-D

Its normally this time of year I start thinking about it, and yes I really do love Christmas time. I hate all the crowds and such, but I do love the finding something for someone you love and giving.

So Yes I do start planning early! This year I have decided to make all the females in the family guinea pigs to my new precious metal clay creations. It will be a great way of thinking about designs and learning about this new medium.

I started maing this week and have created these little star earrings, with handmade silver wire hook backs.

I think this Christmas is going to be more fun than normal, as I am also going to try and think up something to make for the men? I need some ideas for that one........

I really love etsy.com's treasury feature. I can spend ages just picking lovely items to feature. Its just like Window Shopping, but I do it from the comfort of my own comfy chair ;-)

Fun Month

I am so happy to be at almost 500 sales in my Paisley Chainsaw etsy store :-D

To celebrate I am going to have some fun this month, and give a little back to all the fantastic people who have made it possible for me to create jewellery.

To kick start my fun month I am offering Free Worldwide Shipping.....from 8th September till the 13th September.

I have a few other things planned over the next couple of weeks ;-) so will post them when they are ready to go.

I have also spent the day photographing lots of new items to be listed, so a little shop update should happen soon!

Yep I have finally got around to sorting it all out ;-)

www.paisleychainsaw.co.uk now links to my blog here, so I really will be able to keep this up to date and use it more as I should.

www.paisleychainsaw.com is now my store over at Bigcartel.

Its taken forever to get to this point, I have promised myself to try and keep things simple. I took too much on and it was making me feel so stressed. The website was so much hard work to keep it looking and working well. I found it too much and I redirected to bigcartel and etsy anyway, so why not make life a little easier and take some heat off......

I have also been destashing charms and beads like crazy my Esme Art store over at etsy is so full with still more for me to sort through :-D

I have also been playing more with my new love PMC I wanted to create a rougher more rustic looking pendant that also includes the use of UV resin that hardens in UV light. I am really pleased how this turned out, I used a layering technique and a mold I had made for the flower.

New Things

After feeling a little under the weather for a little while due to certain things, I am starting to feel like I might be coming out of the other side, which always happens just sometimes takes longer than other times :-D if you know what I mean lol

The first thing to cheer me up is a our new kitten Daisy, her and our 1 year old Crusha are already good friends.

The other is playing around with new mediums and I have been really loving PMC and wire work, so more of this to come!

Inspiration

I am hoping to try and do one of these a week :-)

Things that have inspired me and I love..... My anxiety has been really bad recently and it reflects sometimes in how much I get done in a day. I am hoping by having a little adrenalin rush from something else will really help.

I am huge Queen fan but I will save that one for now :-)

Today I have two others in mind.....Adam Ant and Green Gartside (Scritti Politti) oh and if you get to the last vid that's Japan (ghosts) just had to throw that one into the mix as I love it so :-D

2nd PMC Experiment

I am really happy how this one turned out, my nickname is EZ so decided to use that as the initials. As my mum so lovingly pointed out it also says "easy" :-D She knows she is cheeky.......

I also had a go at making a bracelet from a vintage plastic knitting needle, This was fun too :-)

PMC Experiment

Since I have been feeling a little low lately my hubby thought it would be a good idea for me to try something new, so I decided to have a play around with some PMC. My first little charm is in no way perfect, but I am really happy with the process and its really easy to work with.
Below is my first attempt, I used some fabric as an imprint which I think looks a little messy but its all part of the learning curve. I will have a second go tomorrow and see what happens :-)

Just a Little Update

I have been slowly working on my website and sorting through things.....My website will be changing soon, I will be moving over to bigcartel completely in September as that is when my hosting is up with my current provider. Bigcartel offer all the things that I need so will be using them as my main page. I am fed up with trying to understand things and getting no where with my own site so until I have saved enough for all the bells and whistles I will go with Bigcartel as they Rock!

I will still be on Etsy as this is my main source of income, they do a great job for me :-)

Still no kitty :-( I have spent most of the week very upset, we have looked all over for her and put a notice up in the shop (but no sign) I was very close to her when I was unwell in 2007 she was with me everyday keeping a close eye on me :-( I think it might take me a while to get over her.

I cannot find my cat flossy :-( she never normally strays anywhere and she is the most loving cat. Its my birthday tomorrow I just hope she turns up cos that would be the best present ever! Not sure why I wrote this as I now feel worse :-(

News Letters

This is part of my new range :-)

Its been taking me a while as I have had so much stuff to list (which I still have about 50 items to go) I have been itching to start with all the new things that have been buzzing away around my head! So here is something new. Wooden alphabets decoupaged with recycled news papers.

I have decided that alot more of my items would incorporate recycled products, partly for the environment but also partly as these things are so readily available and free I can start with ideas much quicker!

I did have a blog on my website but I did something to it and can no longer access it doh! its been one of those days, I really hate doing anything techincal on my website it just messes with my brain.......Anyway my blog for the website is now here as I cannot for the life of me figure out what I did. I so hope in the near future to be able to afford a lovely custom website, that I don't need to tweak :-D

Its so late now, think I might make myself a green tea and see if there is any batternburg! That may cheer me up.
